As if there ever needed to be another reason to visit Paris....

....in the next month, here's one!

To quote from the website of Les Arts Decoratif in Paris, where this exhibition is being held, Hussein Chalayan is "one of the most innovative and creative fashion designers of our time." His 2009 exhibition at the Design Museum in London was truly inspiring. I especially respect his use of such a broad range of materials and his ability to cross so many boundaries in his work, such as fashion, art and architecture. Whereas so many creative people rightly have their own specialisms, designers like Chalayan appear not to be 'restricted' in any way...

Bauhaus at the Barbican

Of the many blockbuster exhibitions here in London next year, one of the highlights will hopefully be this Bauhaus show at the Barbican:

The Bauhaus, arguably the most influential School of Design and the Arts ever, has always been inspiring for me in both my creative and written work (most recently in my degree dissertation).

Alexander McQueen @ the Met'

If I could be any where else in the world right now... one place on the shortlist would definitely be New York, to see this exhibition:

(Also a great example of how to curate a show well without the use of pure white walls, backdrops, etc.)

Final show day photos

I like the colours created by the light that are not normally visible in the fabrics.
